Walking in Dubai and neighbourhood (Pt.II)

During the last week some of my very best friends (as Forrest Gump used to say) came to visit me to taste the Middle East. With them I have enjoyed being around a foreign city (yes, I am still a foreigner....) as tourist....It was pretty much 5.30 when the mosques started spreading around the prayers…...and here is a short movie (sorry, I was out of battery…) of the souk where we were walking:

We headed back home, to d
ress up and pay a visit to the Burj Al Arab (aka the most luxorious hotel in the world).

Of course, I have used a fake name and fake credit card number to avoid paying for the entrance: I was curios, but not aas to curious to pay 70 Euros for a buffet dinner!!!

Amazing outside, disappointing inside. It was…zoot!! But the aquarium by the stairs was really something!!

It was really too much: in the toilet a guy was standing all dressed up only to pass you a fresh towel to dry your hands (of course with some kind of “pliers” to avoid touching it…).

The night ended up in a restaurant, waiting for Leslie’s departure late at night.

Me and Pietro had a week end in front of us. What to do with a beautiful weather and a motorbike in foreign country? Of course we decided to take a trip towards Oman.

We decided which road to take using a….bottle!! Yes, the bottle, rotating, suggested us the street.

458Km in a row to get to the border with Oman. They would not let us in (I had no passport with me).

Here is a pic we took on the road:

And here is a short movie Pietro did while on the road.

Quite disappointing the fact that the road was not close to the sea, so no astounding scenarios or even the possibility to jump into the water at any time….

To tell you the truth, the scenario was quite industrial, and got interesting only when we got close to the “mountains”.

Too bad we had to come back (stupid passport…).

Then a quick ride to Dubai (very quick, my back tyre was almost gone….now it is all gone!!), where we ended up in watching water bikes doing crazy evolutions.

Nice trip, nice day, and nice friends….

Waiting to visit Oman….as I did later with other friends!!

(to be continued)

Sorprendente all’esterno, deludente all’interno.

Bel giro, bel giorno, e begli amici

In attesa dell’Oman…come ho poi fatto con altri amici!!!!

(continua).
